Reading Therapy

Reading Therapy

NOW OFFERING ORTON-GILLINGHAM APPROACH TO READING SUCCESS IN OUR CRANBERRY OFFICE!
All of our Reading Specialists have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education as well as a Master's of Education in Reading.
Our Reading program is designed to directly and systematically  teach struggling readers specific decoding, word recognition, reading comprehension  and reading fluency skills.  Intervention for writing and spelling deficits will also be provided as needed.  During your first reading therapy session, the therapist will evaluate your child's reading, writing, and spelling needs and interview the parents/family to see what your goals are for helping your child learn to read.  Based on this information, the therapist will then design a treatment plan that will help to meet your child's individual needs. Parents will be given an update on progress, instructions for working with their child at home, and home activities after every treatment session.
